Jason & Brandi Kersh

My name is Jason Kersh. The Lord saved me on January 21, 1996. I grew up a lost church member and lived a wicked sinful life until the Holy Spirit of God convicted me and drew me to Jesus and saved my soul.

My wife's name is Brandi; she was saved on March 25, 2001, and became my wife on May 4, 2002. Our son's name is Nate which is short for Nathaniel and he was born on September 17, 2003. He is red headed and full of energy.

I was called to preach in July of 1997 and finished Bible College in 2001. In 1999, while in school, I began to preach in prison just as a place to preach. In December of 2002 the Lord showed me and my wife that He wanted us to do the prison ministry as full time missionaries. The name of our ministry is Living Letters Prison Ministry. (2 Cor.3:2)

Living Letters Prison Ministry is an extension of the local Independent Baptist Church to reach out to the men in the prison system. If we don't reach these men with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, then the Jehovah's Witnesses, Muslims, Wiccans and Charismatics will. We are local church missionaries.

We believe in ONE Bible (KJB) and ONE Saviour (Jesus Christ). Our home church is Victory Baptist Church, located in Gaffney, South Carolina, Pastor Greg Little. We are with Fundamental Baptist Home Missions Board in Bessemer City, North Carolina.

Our mission is, first, to see men saved by the grace of God through the preaching of the Word of God. Secondly, to see them grow in Christ. We go to the same prisons every week and in doing so, we are able to preach through books of the Bible and help young Christians, as well as older Christians, to grow from the Bread of Life, God's Word. In order to do this more efficiently God has opened up to us a door to become a full time voluntary state chaplain. Meaning I would have access and clearance to any prison in the state as any other state chaplain does but I would not be employed or paid by the state but as a missionary through God's local church. Since we will not be state paid employees the state cannot pull any strings to make us compromise in any way. In addition we have also started a home to help men who don't have any where to go when they are released from prison. We help them get back on their feet and at the same time help them spiritually as well. This will also open up doors to be able to reach out to their families as well.

We are currently on deputation and praying that God will lead us to the churches that He has out there that will become faithful partners with us in this endeavor.
